Saw Hidden Figures yesterday with my hubby in a small theater with about 5 other people; today went with my 21 yr old son and the theatre was maybe 1/2 full with a Very Appreciative crowd :-) Lots of laughing out loud and clapping as well as applause at the end. I felt it was a good window on both the early space program and the Civil Rights movement. I'm old enough to remember segregation in the South and being raised only a short distance from Mission Control the space program was very much a part of all of our lives.

Ordered a present for Jacob's 20th birthday from Amazon.com Saturday night...it arrived this afternoon. Billed as UPS ground from Hebron KY to Austin TX. Impressive! (and the dragon is adorable, too!)

Grrr, I wanted to claw the eyes out of my 12-yr old's Tx History teacher today. He'd finished his warmup and was waiting on her to give them their assignment for class, so he pulled out his math homework that he was almost done with to fill the time while waiting. She took it away and refused to give it back, even after he'd finished her assignment, even after class was over. Fortunately an aide in his next class was concerned about why he was so upset and went and got him a replacement paper from his math teacher.

Thing is? Today was football day and the kids 1) stay after school preparing for the game and 2) don't get home until after 9p.m. Oh, let's not forget 3) Jordan is ADD, and has the dickens of a time trying to focus on anything after about 4:30. So we sat and struggled through re-doing his math homework between 9 and ten tonite. Jordan is taking 4 pre-ap classes (all the academics) as well as a required g/t seminar, as well as band and athletics. All this is his choice, I only signed the form. This is not a kid that is fucking off at school. I was so pissed at that woman, I could have chewed nails.
